About

OMG ROFL ETC. Plant-Man and Flowerin’ have finally got their own little home on the internet!

This comic has been going since 1992 in one form or another, but now it’s finally online for everyone to read, not just weird people who went to record stores and comic book shops in the early ’90s.

I’m reprinting the original mini-comics and drawing new material for this website, so please forgive the bad art of the first few stories. It gets a lot better – honest!

Meet Our Cast:

Plant-Man:

The ecologicaly-sound super hero. He is ready to fight crime at any moment, as long as Donahue isn’t on TV. His secret identity is billionaire Bruce Vain, debonair bachelor and peanut butter sandwhich enthusiast.

Likes: Fighting crime, solving mysteries and Ben Affleck movies. Even Bounce!

Dislikes: Littering, pollution and people who push the button that gives you the green man at a walkway even though you ALREADY PRESSED IT.

Favourite episode of Gilligan’s Island: The one where they built something to get them off the island but something went wrong and they didn’t get off the island.

Flowerin’, the Seedling Wonder:

Plant-Man’s ever-faithful sidekick is always on hand to help weed out evil! AKA young ward Tim Flake, Flowerin’ puts the petal to the metal whenever trouble is afoot.

Likes: Helping Plant-Man, saving the world and finding the missing pieces to that Mouse Trap board game nobody plays any more.

Dislikes: Evil-doers, bad people and those little chips you get at the bottom of the bag that are too small to eat without making you look like a greedy fatty.

Secret Cooking Technique: Leave your telephone inside the refridgerator overnight. That way when you need something to eat you can open the fridge and then order some more pizza.

Police Commissioner Gorgon:

Whenever crime strikes, Gotpork City’s police commissioner sends out the call for Plant-Man and Flowerin’ – after a nice mocha latte and a haircut, of course.

Likes: Resting, delegating and alternating between resting and delegating.

Dislikes: Going to the office, thinking too hard and telemarketers. Telemarkers, wow, that’s pretty edgy stuff!

Attitude towards losing at Monopoly: Passive-aggressive.

Action Sally:

Police Commissioner Gorgon’s over-worked assistant is always up for some action. Hence the name. She is also the smartest and most crime-solvingiest person in town, but nobody knows that.

Likes: Finding clues, solving mysteries and waiting until 5:59pm before returning borrowed movies to the rental store, because life is worth living on the edge like that.

Dislikes: Not getting enough respect, having to do all of Commissioner Gorgon’s work and people who spend a fortune on nice televisions and then watch VHS tapes on it I mean what the hell is that all about.

Safety tip: Don’t become a victim of forest fires. Simply set yourself on fire before leaving the house, making sure to call the ambulance before hand.

This comic also occasionally features the following wacky characters:

Daisy the Moo Moo Cow: I’m not really sure what else there is to say that can describe her. She is a cow. Her name is Daisy. She says Moo a lot.

Phil Donahue: Former television star and all round legendary guy.

Mahatma Ghandi: Former spiritual and political leader of India who likes to pop up now and again to offer advice and go on hunger strikes.
